Provision for those who feed the flock
Shepherds Only Foundation

Eligibility

Who the Foundation is for.

Our criteria are few, but we hold to them firmly. They exist so that what has been set aside for shepherds in genuine need actually reaches them.

The criteria

Five requirements, in order of importance.

  1. You are actively serving as a shepherd

    This comes first, and it is strict. You must currently hold an active role in one of the five-fold offices: apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor or teacher. A past role, an honorary title or occasional preaching is not enough on its own. What we mean by the five-fold calling.

  2. You belong to a recognised, verifiable denomination

    This is crucial. Your ministry must sit within a denomination or church body we can recognise and verify, for example Lighthouse Chapel International, the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) or The Church of Pentecost. These are examples only; many other established denominations qualify.

    Not part of a denomination?

    Independent ministers are welcome to apply, but you must provide a strong recommendation from a recognisable figure in ministry who knows your work personally and is willing to be contacted.

  3. You are serving within Ghana

    The Foundation is open to ministers serving anywhere in Ghana, in any region, city, town or village. Where you are stationed makes no difference to your eligibility.

  4. Your need is genuine

    You must be able to demonstrate real financial need. The Foundation’s resources are held for those who are truly struggling, and every application is assessed with that in mind.

  5. You can be verified

    Your identity, location and ministry must be confirmable through documents and referees, and, where the Foundation decides it is needed, through an in-person visit by one of our agents.

Open to every kind of shepherd

No one is excluded for the wrong reasons.

Any age

There is no age limit, at either end of a ministry.

Full or part-time

Bi-vocational ministers who work another job are welcome alongside full-time ministers.

Single, married or widowed

Your marital status does not affect eligibility, though it does shape how support is assessed.

Anywhere in Ghana

Rural or urban, north or south, established church or new plant.

Who receives priority

Where needs exceed what is available, priority is given to families in genuine need of support. A minister and his or her household are treated as one applicant.

Who we cannot help

Where the line falls.

We would rather be clear now than disappoint you later. Applications will not succeed where:

  • the applicant is not currently active in a five-fold ministry role;
  • the denomination cannot be verified and there is no strong recommendation from a recognisable ministry figure;
  • the applicant serves outside Ghana;
  • genuine financial need cannot be shown;
  • any information supplied turns out to be false or misleading; or
  • the request is for a church building, land, event costs, church running costs or political activity rather than for the minister’s household.
