Cookie Policy
Very few cookies, and only with your yes.
This site uses the small number of cookies it needs to stay secure. Beyond that, one optional set counts visits, and it runs only if you agree. There is no advertising and no social media tracking.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser so that it can remember something between one page and the next. Some are essential for a site to function securely. Others help the people who run a site understand how it is used. A third kind follows people across the internet to show them advertising. We use the first kind, the second only with your permission, and never the third.
Essential cookies
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Who gets it |
|---|---|---|---|
| __cf_bm, cf_clearance | Cloudflare | Distinguishes people from automated bots and protects the site from attack. Short-lived. | Visitors, when Cloudflare needs it |
| sof_consent | This site | Remembers whether you said yes or no to visit statistics, so we do not ask on every page. Kept for six months. | Visitors who answer the question |
| wordpress_*, wordpress_logged_in_*, wp-settings-* | WordPress | Keeps site administrators signed in and remembers their dashboard preferences. | Administrators only |
| wfwaf-authcookie-* | Wordfence | Lets the security firewall recognise signed-in administrators. | Administrators only |
These are strictly necessary for security, or for respecting your choice, so they do not require consent.
Visit statistics
On your first visit, a short notice asks whether we may count your visit. Only if you choose Yes do we load Google Analytics, which sets these cookies:
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Tells one visit from another, so we can count visitors rather than page loads. | Up to two years |
| _ga_8FPJWYRRY0 | Google Analytics | Keeps track of a single visit to this site. | Up to two years |
We have switched off Google’s advertising features, including Google signals and ad personalisation, and we do not send names, email addresses or anything you type into our forms to Google. Signed-in administrators are never counted. If you choose No, thank you, Google Analytics never loads, and the site works exactly the same.
What we do not use
- No advertising or remarketing cookies.
- No social media tracking pixels.
- No selling or sharing of visitor data for anyone else’s purposes.
Fonts and security checks
Our typefaces are delivered by Google Fonts. Loading them sends your IP address to Google so the fonts can be served, but Google Fonts does not set cookies.
When you use one of our forms, a security check from Cloudflare Turnstile runs to confirm a real person is submitting it. It may use browser storage briefly for that check and does not track you across other websites.
Your choices
You can change your answer about visit statistics whenever you like. If you withdraw it, we remove the Google Analytics cookies from your browser.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block Cloudflare’s cookies, parts of the site, including our forms, may not work properly.
