Provision for those who feed the flock
Shepherds Only Foundation

Stewardship & Trust

Built by stewards, for stewards.

Shepherds Only Foundation does not appeal to any external body for funding. It is sustained entirely by people who are themselves called to the ministry, for the sake of others who share that call.

A steward does not own what he manages. He holds it for someone else, and one day he gives an account of how he handled it. Every minister understands this. It is how they think about the souls in their care, the pulpit they occupy and the time the Lord has given them.

We have applied that same understanding to money. The Foundation is a circle of stewards: men and women in ministry who have chosen to stand with fellow shepherds through seasons they may one day face themselves. No government, corporation, foreign agency or outside institution funds this work. We do not run appeals, and we do not ask the public for support.

Why we chose this way

Independence protects the people we serve.

01

No strings, no agendas

Outside money often arrives with expectations attached. Because we answer to no external funder, our decisions are shaped by Scripture, by policy and by the genuine needs of ministers, not by the priorities of a sponsor.

02

Dignity for ministers

A shepherd’s hardship should never become someone’s fundraising story. Keeping the circle within the ministry lets us help quietly, without turning anyone’s struggle into a campaign.

03

Shepherds who understand

Those who sustain this work know the weight of the calling from the inside. They give from fellow-feeling, as the churches of Macedonia did for Paul, and that shapes the whole spirit of the Foundation.

How the resources are held

Kept for the long road.

The Foundation is a beneficiary of the Shepherds Trust, an endowment established by stewards for stewards. The Trust preserves its capital and puts it to prudent use, and the support it produces flows to the Foundation, which then carries it to ministers and their households.

That arrangement matters. It means today’s help is not paid for by tomorrow’s ministers. The endowment is meant to serve the next generation of shepherds as faithfully as it serves this one.

  1. Stewards

Ministers called to the work commit resources to the Shepherds Trust.

  2. The Shepherds Trust

The endowment protects its capital and invests with prudence and long-term sustainability in mind.

  3. The Foundation

As a beneficiary, SOF receives support from the Trust and administers it under written policy.

  4. Shepherds and families

Verified ministers in genuine need receive provision, care, scholarships and renewal.

Trust you can examine

Faithfulness that can be checked.

Integrity is not something we ask anyone to assume. These are the commitments that make it visible.

Collective decisions

No single person controls the Foundation’s resources. Significant decisions are made collectively by the Board, with trustees invited to weigh in on matters that affect the vision’s perpetuity.

Distribution by policy

Support is released against published criteria and verified need. Every application is assessed the same way, and every decision is recorded.

An annual account

Each year our Reflections report and Annual Report set out what was received, what was given and what was learned, without revealing who was helped.

Written safeguards

Our Financial Accountability, Conflict of Interest and Whistleblower policies define how resources are protected and how concerns are raised.

As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
