Vision & Mission
Strengthen the shepherd, and the flock holds together.
Our vision and mission are deliberately narrow. They rest on members of the five-fold ministry, because what happens to a shepherd always reaches the sheep.
Our vision
To see the needs of every truly called minister of God fully met.
Not merely eased, and not only in emergencies. We picture a day when no faithful shepherd has to choose between a sick child and the rent, or wonder whether the calling will cost them their home.
Our mission
To build sustainable support systems that serve everyday ministers and their families for a lifetime.
Systems, because good intentions run dry. Everyday ministers, because most faithful servants are not famous. Families, because the calling is shared at home. A lifetime, because we do not intend to leave.
Why the shepherd
The reason for our focus.
The church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
1 Timothy 3:15
Scripture is plain about what happens when a shepherd falls: “I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered.” The church is the pillar and ground of the truth in every society it touches, and that pillar is held up, in large part, by the diligence of the men and women who tend it.
A diligent and faithful shepherd is one of the greatest gifts a congregation can receive. Yet the ordinary minister often serves under pressures that have nothing to do with preaching or prayer: unpaid rent, medical bills, school fees, a spouse without work, a car that has finally given up on the road to the outstation.
None of these burdens is spiritual in itself, but each one pulls at the attention a shepherd owes the flock. Left alone long enough, they can drain the joy out of a calling that was already demanding.
We focus on the shepherd so that the flock is fed. Every minister we steady is a congregation that stays together.
That is why we do not spread ourselves across every good cause. Choosing the five-fold ministry is not a way of ranking people. It is a decision about leverage: one act of support placed under a shepherd rises through an entire household, then a congregation, then the community that congregation serves.
How the mission is carried
Five threads of care, woven together.
Provision
Financial support for verified ministers facing genuine need, with the opportunity to apply once a month for twelve months after onboarding.
Care
Confidential counselling for ministers and their spouses, because the heaviest burdens are not always financial.
Family
Scholarships and tuition support for ministers’ children, and development opportunities for their spouses.
Renewal
Seminars and retreats, for individuals and entire families, organised and paid for by the Foundation.
Word & prayer
Weekly articles and Christian books for subscribers, and prayer meetings online and, where possible, in person.
What the vision is not
We do not fund church buildings, land, crusades, general church budgets or political activity. Our support goes to the minister and the minister’s household, every time.
The ripple
One shepherd, steadied.
A household that eats and sleeps under a secure roof. Children who finish the school year. A spouse with new skills and fresh hope. A minister who walks into the pulpit with a clear mind. A congregation that is shepherded rather than scattered. That is the return we are working for.
